Chorus Mysticus & the Rule of 3 (2015)

A double bill, Chorus Mysticus & the Rule of 3 was commissioned by the Hostry Festival in 2015.

the Rule of 3 is the story of a poet who finds her voice in a cynical, dismissive world.

Chorus Mysticus is a piece of movement theatre inspired by the music of Mahler and set to the finale of Symphony No.8, to celebrate The Hostry Festival’s 2015 performance of Mahler’s Conversion.

All things transitory

But as symbols are sent:

Earth’s insufficiency

Here grows to Event;

The indescribable

Here it is done;

The Woman-soul leadeth us

Upward and on!
